José joins the ranks of models who aspire to forge a career path behind the camera lens. Having had the opportunity to model for some very talented photographers & filmmakers, he got to observe all the work which goes on behind the scenes. Those lived experiences inspired him to study and be on the creative side.
In 2023 he enrolled in Photography, Lighting, Videography and Post-production courses, which provided him with a good foundation ahead of this year's intensive program. His teachers have included Lúa Fisher, Daniel Merino, Eva García Herrero & Rafael Trapiello.
José is currently a Full-time student of Filmmaking (UEMC) & Documentary Cinema at LENS school of visual arts in Madrid. He is also taking an advanced course in lighting.
Below are highlights of his school assignments, extra curricular & independent projects:
Official music video. Filmed at Parque del Retiro, Madrid during summer 2024.
This was part of a group project. These 3 scenes are Jose's contribution to that film. Armand Rovira is a Spanish film director & teacher at LENS School of visual arts, Madrid.

It is always amazing to see what photography students start to achieve once they learn how to shoot in manual mode & use artificial sources of light. It is also interesting to see how a photographer evolves & starts to develop their own style. Because theories & technical skills can be taught, but creativity & motivation can only come from within each individual.
What photography will José lean towards? Fashion, sport, portrait, street, still life, architecture, landscape ... documentary? What kind of film making? No one knows yet. But considering how broad his areas of interest are, it's anyone's guess. Can you tell by looking at these images?
Now seems to be the beginning of a very exciting chapter in José's life. A period of growth, creativity & transformation. We see the potential in José & wish him every success!
